As our summer series of classes continue, we’ve started learning the Big Apple. This is a longer, fast-paced choreographed routine that any Lindy Hopper should know, and is fun for both experienced dancers and beginners. Currently, we’re two weeks into this four week class, and this video series by Patrick and Natasha is great if you haven’t been able to make it to class or want to practice what you’ve learned at home. They do a wonderful job of breaking down each part into easy-to-follow steps, as well as performing the steps up to speed. Their series of YouTube videos breaks down the routine into 15 parts, and at the end they have the entire thing strung together and danced up to speed. If you want to follow along with Patrick and Natasha and get yourself caught up, the end of this week’s class brought us up to the seventh video in their series.
